Why do I need to wait at least 15 minutes but not longer than 12 hours to start the fertility test after placing semen in the liquefaction cup?
Due to the thick jelly-like consistency of semen, it normally takes 30-60 minutes for it to thin out into a liquid form. The liquefaction cup is treated to induce the semen to liquefy within 15 minutes after it is placed in the cup. You may then wait for up to 12 hours before you start the fertility test. Keep the included lid on the cup and swirl the semen around in the cup before you start the fertility test.
