When do HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) antibodies appear in your blood?
Antibodies usually appear in the blood between 6 weeks and 3 months. However, in some cases they may not appear for up to 6 months. This is something to keep in mind, as the test cannot detect an infection early. Hence an infection contracted in January may not return a positive result until June.
