When and how should I take the test?
Although, the frequency of tests depends upon the individual's health and medical profile, several studies suggests that a person over the age of 20, should take the total cholesterol test and a regular cholesterol test after every 5 years, if the diet includes adequate & controlled intake of cholesterol. At times, people are suggested to take the tests annually. If the cholesterol is more than the desired levels, you should go for complete & thorough medical examination. You should monitor yourself frequently so as to assess the effects of medication.
