What is the significance of Cholesterol? Do we really need it?
Cholesterol is one of the lipids used extensively by our body for a diverse array of functions. Cholesterol, along with some other lipids, forms important cellular structural components, makes steroidal hormones, & produces energy when decomposed. They can be converted into Phospholipids and glycolipids which are important components of cellular membranes.
