The hs-CRP test is based on the principle of a solid phase enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The assay system utilizes a unique monoclonal antibody directed against a distinct antigen determent on the CRP molecule. Solid phase immunoglobulin used is mouse monoclonal anti-CRP antibody. Test sample is set and allowed to react simultaneously with two antibodies resulting CRP to sandwich between solid phase and the enzyme-linked antibodies. After some time of incubation, unbound antibodies are removed and the bound antibodies are color labeled. The labeled antibodies are than observed by spectrophotometers at 450nm, & the intensity of the light emitted from the assay is directly proportional to the CRP concentration.
