What is the detection window of various drugs using saliva drug testing methods?

Like other drug testing methods (urine, hair, sweat, etc.), the primary use of saliva drug test is to detect recent substance use and identify the kind of substance use. Saliva is known to contain higher percentage of the parent drug, and the detection window can be anywhere between 12 and 24 hours, depending on the type and density of drug used. In the book Introduction to Chemical Dependency Counseling – authored by Jerome David Levin, Joseph Culkin, and Richard S. Perrotto – it was mentioned that the drug-detection time frame from saliva is significantly shorter compared to urine as most signs of drugs are gone from saliva within twelve to twenty-four hours.
