This test is fairly accurate as far as EtG detection is concerned. This test assumes that the concentration of EtG metabolite is a direct reflection of the amount of alcohol metabolized. This assumption can lead to some false positive results in cases where general medication consists of alcoholic compounds. So, EtG detection is highly accurate but its direct attribution to alcohol consumption may lead to impaired analysis.
