Mexican Valium is the slang for Rohypnol that is a benzodiazepine which is used in the short-term treatment of insomnia and as a sedative hypnotic and preanesthetic medication. It has physiological effects similar to diazepam i.e. Valium which is widely used as an anaesthetic in surgical operations across the world. However, Rohypnol is approximately 10 times more potent than Valium.
