What is folic acid?

Folic acid is also known by several other names - pteroyl-L-glutamic acid, Vitamin M, folate, folinic acid, folacin etc. It is a water soluble vitamin B (B9) compound and can be found commonly in leafy green vegetables like kale and spinach, in orange and in enriched grains.
