Folic acid deficiency may lead to various infant developmental complications and a diverse array of other disorders. Most complicated and severe is the Neural Tube Disorder (NTD). Not only it leads to the neuronal disorders, but may also lead to Alzheimer's disease, cervical and colon cancer, arthrosclerosis, heart attack, stroke, osteoporosis, depression, dementia, cleft lip and palate, hearing loss etc.
