What are the social factors which lead to ADHD prescription drug abuse by small kids?
Everyone wants his/her kids to graduate from Harvard. However, many normal children may show poor academic performance at one or the other time due to factors others than ADHD. IN such a case, many over ambitious parents act in haste and force their kids to pop in ADHD drugs impulsively without even getting them properply examined! IEven if a child has ADHD, when a child's performance and behavior improve soon after starting medication, the child, parents, and teachers tend to applaud the drug for causing the sudden changes. Unfortunately, when people see such immediate improvement, they often think medication is all that's needed. But medications don't cure ADHD; they only control the symptoms on the day they are taken and such unscruplous use may lead to addiction in innocent kids!
