What are the different parts of a prostate gland?
The prostate is generally divided into four distinct zones. These are the peripheral portion which makes up about 70% of the glandular prostate and is the source of most prostate cancer; the central portion which makes up 25% and may involve cancer and the anterior zone where prostate cancer rarely originates.
