What are Pesticides?
Pesticides are toxic chemicals that are widely used to control weeds, insects, and other unwanted plants or animals in agriculture, industry, and residential settings. Their effectiveness, however, has caused considerable pollution. Atrazine and simazine are two of the most commonly used pesticides in the United States and both have been found in surface and ground water supplies around the world at toxic levels.
