My friend is going through irregular periods. Is it because of menopause?
Menopause can be said to be an absence of menstrual periods for 12 months. The menopausal transition starts with varying menstrual cycle length and ends with the final menstrual period. Generally menopause is the time in a woman's life when the function of the ovaries ceases. During this period ovaries do not produce adequate estrogen. The symptoms which you may be able to note soon are a change in menstrual cycle, hot flashes and vaginal dryness.
