How often should I do hemoglobin A1c diabetes test ?

Everyone affected with diabetes should have a hemoglobin A1c test at least twice a year. If you are affected with Type 1 diabetes, if you are taking insulin, or if your blood sugars are consistently too high, you should have the diabetes test performed every 3 months.
