How is C-Reactive Protein related to the risk of hypertension?
In healthy women, those having a high hs-CRP level on top of high blood pressure have been found to have much greater risk of having a future event such as a heart attack or stroke. Furthermore, the risk of developing hypertension in the future has been reported to be greater in those individuals who have higher hs-CRP levels even though sphygmomanometer reports low blood pressure in the beginning.
