How Cotinine can be detected? What sort of test sample is required?
Most of the cotinine produced in the body is excreted via urine and is a much higher concentration (10 times higher) than when it is in the bloodstream. Cotinine testing in the urine is the preferred method for determining passive exposure to tobacco. Cotinine is measurable in saliva, but this is a more difficult method in terms of collecting a sample or extracting it. Serum is a highly preferred method for testing cotinine levels since bacteria cannot break it down and cotinine levels are not concentrated.

"I want you to know that I am positively thrilled, really, just to know that this kind of email support exists. You are really thorough and you follow up. Do you know how rare that is? Anyway, sooner or later I will try this but in the meantime I am so glad to have the quality support." (Dave G.)
